How Does the RPI Work?

The RPI takes in regular potable water. An integrated Millipore system purifies the water, followed by mixing with the concentrated reagent. This so-called reconstitution is very accurately performed and regularly checked against an ISO/NIST standard, to ensure production remains within specifications. Once the reagent reaches the user-required conductivity, it flows to a storage container. 4 connected devices can draw freely up to 20 liters per hour from this ready to use reagent buffer. The RPI provides reagent at the best possible quality. That is why the RPI is equipped with 0,22μm filters in the lines towards the analyzers, containing any particle or contamination within the RPI.

User Interface

Reagent preparation status and quality are displayed on an intuitive built-in user interface. This interface offers clear graphics and presents different kinds of information to the user, such as user manuals and troubleshooting intelligence guides. Every lab employee can easily use and maintain the RPI. The interface can also display more detailed information on the reagent concentrate status, such as lot numbers, expiration dates, and remaining concentrate levels. NFC tags on the packaging take care of full traceability and are used for automated quality compliance.

Sustainability

The RPI allows labs and hematology suppliers to significantly improve the ecological footprint related to their reagent use. The RPI not only requires fewer logistical movements, but also less storage capacity, packaging, and energy. A 10L cubitainer of concentrate can produce 250 liters of reagent at a 1:25 ratio replacing,12,5 large 20L containers of ready-to-use reagent. Using less and – where possible – reused packaging materials, allows laboratories to reduce waste and costs.
